With lockdown measures temporarily closing UK restaurants in March 2020, a growing number of Brits chose to cook at home instead. Here’s how searches for different recipes changed between April 2019 and April 2020:
Looking at recipe searches more generally, Mexican recipes are the most in demand. In an average month, 4,400 people search for ‘Mexican Recipes’, while 3,800 look up ‘Chinese Recipes’ and 3,200 look for ‘Thai Recipes’.
Interestingly, searches for ‘British Recipes’ are the second lowest at 600 per month, behind only ‘American Recipes’ (450). Perhaps Brits are so familiar with cooking these meals that they no longer need to reference a recipe!
