Classic Box Recipes for Delivery Week Commencing 29th October

Chef André attributes his love of food to his father, a Frenchman and chef. He says his fondest childhood memories are of family meals around his parents’ kitchen table. This recipe is a recreation of one of the dishes that made regular appearances on that very table, and is one we hope you love as much as he does. Forget pasta or potatoes – when it comes to nutritious and versatile cooking, little can beat the humble lentil.

Ras-el-Hanout is a spice mixture used throughout North Africa. Literally translated, the name means 'top of the shop'. Kind of like our 'top drawer' - the best each spice seller has to offer. No two merchants have quite the same blend but ours contains chillies, rose petals and ginger amongst other deliciously fragrant things. It brings fabulous aromas and flavours to this stew. Enjoy!

Our recipes are rigorously tested here at the Fresh Farm but André knows he's onto a particular winner when his kids give something the double thumbs up. There are plenty of appreciative noises around the table when he dishes this one up and we can see why. Comforting pasta, tender chicken and a delicious creamy sauce with just the right amount of tarragon. We're sure you'll give it the thumbs up too. Enjoy!

If you’ve never made chicken tinga (pronounced teen-GA) before, you’re in for a real treat tonight. Originating from Puebla, Mexico, chicken tinga is a versatile dish of tender chicken in a tomato and chipotle sauce which is traditionally served with tacos or tostadas. Because it’s good to be a little bit different, Chef Lizzie decided to serve it with coriander rice, a limey salad and zesty sour cream.

Sometimes life throws bizarre situations at us. Patrick experienced this in Singapore airport when he saw himself on the television. Turns out his cooking show had made it over to the Far East and it wasn’t long before the staff in the restaurant were piling his plate with all sorts of local deliciousness. One of the dishes was a mouth-watering Singapore laksa - practically a national dish.
