Serrano, Mozzarella & Fig Jam Baguette

with Mayonnaise and Wild Rocket | Serves 2

This Italian inspired roll is not your average sandwich. Creamy mozzarella and salty Serrano ham are the perfect pairing, finished with sweet fig jam and peppery rocket for a little taste of Italy at lunchtime!

Baking Tray


Bake the Baguette

a) Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7. Remove the bread from the packaging and pop onto a baking tray.

b) Bake on the middle shelf of your oven until toasted and golden, 10-12 mins. Once baked, allow to cool, 5 mins. 

c) Meanwhile, drain and thinly slice the mozzarella.

d) Roughly tear the Serrano ham into pieces.

On a Roll

a) Once the bread has cooled slightly, slice the baguette in half lengthways.

b) Spread the mayo on the base of the roll.

c) Spread the fig jam on the lid of the roll.

Layer up for Lunch

a) Pop the rocket on the base of the roll.

b) Top with the mozzarella slices, then layer the Serrano ham pieces on top.

c) Sandwich on the baguette lid, slice in half and share between 2 plates.
