a) Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil with ½ tsp salt for the noodles.
b) Halve or quarter any large broccoli florets.
c) Halve the bell pepper and discard the core and seeds. Slice into thin strips. Peel and grate the garlic (or use a garlic press).
d) In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, ketjap manis, honey, hoisin sauce and the water for the sauce (see pantry for amount). TIP: If your honey has hardened, put the sachet in a bowl of hot water for 1 min to loosen.

a) Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
b) Once hot, add the broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 mins, then add a splash of water and immediately cover with a lid or some foil.
c) Allow to cook until the broccoli is tender, 6-7 mins.
d) Once cooked, transfer the broccoli to a bowl, wipe out the pan and pop back on medium-high heat.
a) Add the beef mince to the frying pan (no oil) along with the bell pepper. Fry until the mince has browned and the pepper has softened, 7-9 mins.
b) Use a spoon to break it up as it cooks. IMPORTANT: Wash your hands and equipment after handling raw mince.
c) When the mince has browned, drain and discard any excess fat. Season with salt and pepper. IMPORTANT: The mince is cooked when no longer pink in the middle.
a) While the beef cooks, add the noodles to the pan of boiling water and cook until tender, 4 mins.
b) Once cooked, drain in a sieve and run under cold water to stop them sticking together.

a) Once the mince is browned and the pepper is softened, stir in the garlic and cook for 1 min. Add the cooked broccoli back into the pan.
b) Pour in the bowl of sauce and bring to the boil. Simmer for 2-3 mins.
c) Add the cooked noodles to the stir-fry and toss to coat well in the sauce. Add a splash of water if it needs loosening.

a) Share the noodles between your serving bowls.
b) Elevate me: Sprinkle the sesame and chilli flakes over the adult portions (and any kids portions if they want them too!).
