The (Japanese) word of the day is “Yakitori” which essentially means anything with a little wooden skewer through it. Chicken Yakitori is particularly popular in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo where hordes of office workers retreat after a hard week’s work to sit at low tables, munch grilled chicken and catch up with friends. For the linguists amongst you we also threw in the word “genki” - it means “fun”!
