We analysed the most popular traditional party foods, based on how many people in the country are searching for the dish, for all countries competing in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The data revealed each of the 40 European countries' favourite party dishes. Savoury foods appear to be Europe's favourite type of party food- but what will you include in your buffet?
Two of the songs in this year's Eurovision song contest actually have food mentioned in the titles: Latvia's entry 'Eat Your Salad' and Norway's 'Give that Wolf a Banana'.
The Latvian song is about the climate emergency, with lyrics including "zero waste, that is my jam" and "being green is cool (it‘s cool), eat your salad, save the planet". You can see the full lyrics here.
Though the Norweigan band Subwoolfer refrain from sharing the meaning behind their lyrics, many fans believe the lyrics refer to taking the vaccine as the song was written during the pandemic. You can see the full lyrics here.
