
Ham and cheese sandwiches are a family favourite for a reason. Elevate the classic combination by layering Serrano ham and Cheddar cheese inside a soft sourdough baguette, before finishing with honey-mustard mayo.

Serrano Ham

a) Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7. Pop the baguette onto a baking tray.
b) Bake on the middle shelf of your oven until toasted and golden, 10-12 mins.
c) Once baked, allow to cool for 5 mins.

a) While the bread bakes, thinly slice the Cheddar cheese lengthways.
b) Combine in a small bowl the mayo, wholegrain mustard and honey. TIP: If your honey has hardened, put the sachet in a bowl of hot water for 1 min to loosen.
c) Once the bread has cooled slightly, slice it in half lengthways.

a) Spread the honey mustard mayo over the lid and base of the baguette.
b) Layer the slices of Cheddar cheese over the base of the baguette, then top with the Serrano ham slices.
c) Sandwich on the baguette lid, slice in half widthways and share between 2 plates to finish.
