Instructions

Make the Burgers
1

a) Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7. Peel and grate the garlic (or use a garlic press).

b) In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and garlic with the salt and water for the breadcrumbs (see pantry for both amounts), then add the beef mince. Season with pepper and mix together with your hands.

c) Roll into even-sized balls, then shape into 1cm thick burgers, 1 per person. TIP: The burgers will shrink a little during cooking.

d) Pop the burgers and streaky bacon rashers onto a baking tray (use 2 trays if necessary).

Prep the Toppings
2

a) Bake the bacon and burgers on the middle shelf of your oven until cooked through, 12-15 mins. IMPORTANT: Wash your hands and equipment after handling raw meat. The burgers are cooked when no longer pink in the middle. Cook bacon thoroughly.

b) While the burgers cook, grate the cheese.

c) Combine in a medium bowl the coleslaw mix, half the burger sauce and the mayo (see pantry for amount). Season with salt and pepper, then mix well to combine.

d) Halve the burger buns.

Assemble and Serve
3

a) Once cooked, remove the bacon from the tray. Carefully place the cheese on top of the burgers.

b) Add the burger buns to the same tray and return to the oven until the cheese is melted and the buns are warmed through, 2-3 mins.

c) Spread the remaining burger sauce onto the warmed bun lids.

d) Top each bun base with a cheesy burger and 2 bacon rashers each. Sandwich on the bun lids.

e) Serve the burger sauce slaw alongside to finish.

Enjoy!
