Instructions

1
  • Trim the carrot. Chop into half moons about 0.5cm thick.
  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan on high heat.
  • Once hot, fry the beef and carrot, 5-6 mins.
  • Break up the mince as it cooks, then drain the fat. Season with salt and pepper. IMPORTANT: Wash hands and utensils after handling raw meat. Cook so there's no pink in the middle.
2
  • Meanwhile, boil a full kettle. Pour it into a saucepan with 0.5 tsp salt on high heat.
  • Boil the noodles, 4 mins.
  • Once cooked, drain in a sieve and run under cold water to stop them sticking together.
  • While everything's cooking, open the remaining sachets.
3
  • Stir the pea pods, teriyaki, soy, sambal (add less if you'd prefer things milder), honey and water (see pantry for both) into the beef.
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat. Simmer, 1-2 mins.
  • Add the cooked noodles. Stir to coat, 1-2 mins.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. Add a splash of water if it's too thick.
4
  • Share the noodles between your bowls.
  • Sprinkle over the sesame seeds to finish.
  • Enjoy!

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavour: Many enjoyed the rich, tasty sauce, though some found it overly sweet; consider reducing teriyaki and honey for a more balanced taste.
  • Ease of prep: Praised for being quick and simple to prepare, with most finding it ready in 15-20 minutes.
  • Suggestions: Try using beef strips instead of mince for better texture; add extra vegetables like pak choi for more variety.
  • Portions: Some found the serving size small; consider supplementing with additional ingredients or sides for a heartier meal.
